Last July my family bought a Labradoodle and we have had a blast training her and watching her interact with our kids. She really is the best dog and we are so lucky to have her in our family. When we first got her I wrote about my desires for her to be a hunting dog. I have only had the opportunity to take her out once, but she definitely did not disappoint! I will write about that experience in another post because this post is dedicated to my sweet daughter.

Lexi is turning 3 this month and she is a little fireball. She is full of life and she never ceases to amaze me with how smart she is. I have always tried to teach her about the outdoors and she loves to spend time in the mountains looking for Deer, Moose and Elk. She learned how to bugle like an Elk at 18 months and I thought that would be my proudest moment as her father. However the other day she may have topped the Elk bugling.

I was sitting at our couch with our dog Cash and she walked in carrying one of her stuffed animals. She proceeded to tell me that it was her “huntin’ dog” and that his name was “PETA”. I asked her several times what the name was to make sure I had heard her right. Sure enough she had named her Huntin’ Dog Peta. I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard. With her birthday a few weeks away I am very tempted to buy a Hunting Dog for her just so I can name it PETA!
