I am a Hunting Addict through and through, I love everything about hunting. Here is a list of some of the things that get my blood boiling and make it so all I can think about is how far away the fall is.

  • I love the bond that I have developed with fellow hunters throughout the years
  • I love the smell of the forest in the fall
  • I love sitting for hours waiting for an animal to cross my path
  • I love watching squirrels and other rodents play around my set up
  • I love the fact that I am completely hidden in the woods and I can see nature un-interrupted
  • I love the feeling I get when I see an Elk, Buck or even a Doe. It doesn’t have to be hunting season and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up at the sight of these animals
  • I love hearing my 2 year old little girl belt out a bugle imitating a Bull Elk
  • I love sharing stories about past hunts and speculating on future hunts
  • I love the smell of Cow in Heat
  • I love putting my Camo on in anticipation of the hunt
  • I love packing my bag the night before the hunt, the adrenaline of not knowing what I will experience the next day is amazing
  • I love seeing hunters so excited about success
  • I love seeing Hunters that had a great time and didn’t see a thing
  • I love the challenge of providing food for my family
  • I love the looks we get as we stumble into a restaurant after a long day of hunting

As I was sitting at the computer wondering what I could write about I found myself just listing off everything I love about Hunting. I could go on all day, there are so many little things that get me excited about hunting. What is it that gets you excited about hunting?

  1. I love the crisp air in the early fall mornings. I love going home and discussing what I saw/didn’t see with my husband. I love the way my heart skips a beat when I see a deer – doe, buck, or whatever – and it doesn’t matter the season. And, of course, all that you mentioned above, and more.. Great Post!

  2. Love the list. I love the nice afternoon nap under a pine tree. As dad always says “It doesn’t get any better than this”.

  3. I think your list covered all my favorites as well – except I haven’t hunted Elk yet.

I love the cool crisp mornings; I love watching a sunrise from a treestand; I love just watching nature go about her business; and I love how small I feel surrounded by so much nature.

It truly is a one-of-a-kind experience.

  4. Deer Passion, My heart always skips a beat as well. It is so hard to explain why I love hunting to people because I have no idea how to explain the feelings I get while out hunting. I also think sharing the stories of the day is always a highlight and makes it very memorable.

Arthur, let me know when you can make your way to Utah and we will take you Elk hunting; it is an amazing experience!

There is something about fall mornings that make me feel so alive!

  5. Ahh.. all the things you mention and like you say, one could go on all day. A couple things that come to mind is the breathing in of the mountain air as I climb, and being able to share in all of the above with my wife and hunting partner creating memories that no one can take from us.

  6. I would have to add one to the list, the rush I get after the shot. It is a high unlike anything else. I can’t even put words to describe it but, with this group I am sure that I don’t have to.

  7. You sick, twisted people! Hunting down innocent animals from the safety of your shotgun! So pathetic! You are a bunch of losers!!! Psychos!
