This is a great fishing song that I thought you all would enjoy. It brought a tear to my eye the first time I saw it.

What a great video and song. I love the “10 pound bass” that is actually a 2 pound bass.

I had the opportunity to go fishing in Alaska last summer with my wife’s father and brother’s. We went up to Sitka Alaska and we stayed at the Talon Lodge, a private island, and went out fishing for 8 hours everyday. It was an amazing trip and we had a blast up there. We were fishing for Salmon and Halibut, but we pulled all sorts of fish into the boat including Sharks and StingRay’s. I had only fished for trout in Utah prior to the trip, but none of the trout I have caught are worth bragging about. On the first day fishing in Alaska my Brother-in-law, Tyler, pulled in the first fish and we were all very excited about it, it was bigger than any fish any of us had caught in Utah. Our deckhand took it off the line, looked at it and then threw it back into the ocean. We all looked at him like he was crazy and he told us “it was too small”. That is when I knew we were in for a treat. We caught several fish that trip, including several 20+ pound Salmon and Halibut, and we brought more fish home than we could eat!

My favorite was fishing for King Salmon, they put up such a fight before you can get them to the boat! I was exhausted after fighting one for what seemed like an hour, it was actually only a couple of minutes. It was a great time and I can’t wait to head back up to Alaska for some deep sea fishing! I will include some more stories from that trip in other posts.

If you ever have a chance to go fishing in Alaska do not miss your opportunity!!
