I've only ever had one wild turkey and we roasted it. Very yummy. I'd like to try a deep fried turkey, but never have had the chance.

I have yet to kill a bird so take this advice with a grain of salt.

From my experience the last two years I think a pop-up blind is definitely the way to go. Their eyes are so good that I got picked off a couple of times trying to use natural cover. I went to a ground blind and have had hens literally walk right up to it with no problems; unfortunately no Tom has done that yet, though. Hopefully that changes this year.

Good luck when you guys go out. It is definitely a lot of fun, and helps to hold you over for deer season in the fall.
